Liberation of Orthogonal Lie Groups
We show that under suitable assumptions, we have a one-to-one correspondence between classical groups and free quantum groups, in the compact orthogonal case. We classify the groups under correspondence, with the result that there are exactly 6 of them: On, Sn, Hn, Bn, S ′ n , B n . We investigate the representation theory aspects of the correspondence, with the result that for On, Sn, Hn, Bn, ...

depending on indeterminates x1, . . . , xn. Dyson conjectured the explicit form of this constant term. His conjecture was soon related with the root system of sl(n), generalized to other root systems of simple Lie algebras and proved. The expressions obtained for the Dyson constant are called Macdonald’s identities, see [M]. Let us briefly recall the main results. Let g be a simple (finite dime...
متن کاملLie Algebras of Differential Operators and Lie-Algebraic Potentials
An explicit characterisation of all second order differential operators on the line which can be written as bilinear combinations of the generators of a linitedimensional Lie algebra of first order differential operators is found, solving a problem arising in the Lie-algebraic approach to scattering theory and molecular dynamics. One-dimensional potentials corresponding to these Lie algebras ar...

Generalizing the work of [5, 41], we give a general solution to the following problem: describe the triplets (Ω, g, μ) where g = (g(x)) is the (co)metric associated to the symmetric second order differential operator L(f) = 1 ρ ∑ ij ∂i(g ρ∂jf), defined on a domain Ω of R and such that L is expandable on a basis of orthogonal polynomials on L(μ), and dμ = ρ(x)dx is some admissible measure. Up to...
متن کاملOrthogonal Polynomials of Compact Simple Lie Groups
Recursive algebraic construction of two infinite families of polynomials in n variables is proposed as a uniform method applicable to every semisimple Lie group of rank n. Its result recognizes Chebyshev polynomials of the first and second kind as the special case of the simple group of type A1. The obtained not Laurent-type polynomials are equivalent to the partial cases of theMacdonald symmet...
